This is me, your itinerant unreliable blogger, having missed three days I am back again doing this before my morning walk and orange juice as a punishment.

Tuesday I left moodini rest area after my usual walk, shower, breakfast and chores. There was nothing much to see there on my walk but it is always pleasest walking along bush tracks. Then the days drive again nice but nothing special and parked for the night just 16kms west of Penong. While walking around the site exploring just before dinner I came across a couple that I met in December at Greenbushes. So we had a drink and a nice chat.

Wednesday morning started in the usual way except that I decided to leave my shower until after the days driving. On the way out, I was the second last to leave as most people seem to be in a hurry to go, another chat with my friends then off east. A stop in Ceduna was called for and water, shopping and fuel were added to the van in that order. I was able to replace my broken coffee plunger, this time with a double walled stainless steel one that will not brake if I drop it. The target after Ceduna was Pildippa Rock which was found after quite a bit of effort. My navigator refused to locate the rock but signs as I approached the town of Minnipa (I already knew that it was in the vicinity) sent me down an unsealed but satisfactory road to the rock. Impressive complete with wave formation but not as big as Elechbutting Rock in WA, they compare it to Wave Rock but without all the hype. Anyway I tried but was unable to find a level spot to park so I moved on.

There are lots of rest stops along this Eyre Highway so I was not worried about finding somewhere to stay. The time was by now close to 4pm so the rest stops would already have some campers which would make it easy. However the rest stops I passed were all empty so that I finished up in a town called Kimba where they have an RV rest area. A long day totalling 450kms, too much and I was tired. The rest area was nice with shower and toilet so I freshened up and joined the other two couples for drinks.

It turned out that one of the couples was having the same trouble with their fridge as me, it was not running on 12v when the vehicle motor was turned on, and that the manufacturer (Dometic) had given them the name of a repairer in Port Augusta. This was to be our next stop so they gave me his name and I went to the same guy about an hour or more behind them so as not to interfere. When I got there they were still waiting but he turned up, fixed their problem and diagnosed mine. Mine required an auto electrician to fix it and, already early afternoon, I went to the recommended electrician. He got to work and I sat reading in his showroom until nearly knock off time. But he did fix it and the bill was surprisingly small.

However it was too late to move on so I have stayed here in an rv rest area provided by one of the local sporting clubs.

Now I can have my orange juice and go for a walk.
